One Sabado (Saturday), we went to a Feria (fair) that had all sorts of fruit & vegetables. Those green, oblong things are interesting. You open them up like we do at home with peas out of the garden, there's huge seeds inside & white fluff around the seeds that tastes like vanilla icecream.

This shocked me at first until I realized it was just a doll.

This is the F.P.E./Autosuficiencia Manager for Costa Rica, Rodrigo Rivera, his wife Paolo & their cute hijos.

We went to Monte Verde one day & were able to see 2 different Quetzals. They're actually the national bird of Guatemala. Sooooo beautiful!!!

The members of the Church here have been so kind to us. The Campos Alfaro familia invited us to their Family Home Evening one night. We had dinner, played games & Hermano Alfaro gave a lesson about The Sacrament.

A good share of the road to Monte Verde (Mountain Green) is unpaved & very bumpy. We learned from past experience to make sure we traveled it, this time, in the daylight. It was a beautiful ride!

These are our friends, Elder & Hermana Coleman,, myself & Elder Pete just before we commenced zip lining through the jungle & rain forest. FANTASTICO!!!! Sister Coleman is afraid of heights & had never done anything like this before, but she DID IT & actually said she'd do it again. Way to be brave Hermana Coleman!!

At the end of 13 different ziplines, we stood at the top of this tower, (that's me on the right trying not to wet myself) & JUMPED!!! Oh my heck...I'm not sure I've ever done anything that scarey & I gave birth to 5 children!!

This is Hermano Elvis Gomez in the middle. He's the head of the PEF/Self-Reliance Program for Central America. He came from Guatemala, to visit us here in Costa Rica. What a nice, humble, down-to-earth man : )
Not my most flattering foto...someone forgot to say, "suck it in"  : (

Our office is located in central San Jose, in a somewhat dicey neighborhood. Several times now, someone will come by
and want some help in one way or another. This is Ana from Nicaragua & her oldest of 2 boys. They've
fallen on hard times & needed a little money to catch one of those bus', to take them to the border @ night.
We explained to her that we're not allowed to give hand-outs, but after contemplation, told her that if they washed
our car, they could earn the money.
They did just that.We rounded up some food & gave them a gift of The Book of Mormon. I'm showing
this cute 10 year old boy a picture of our 10 year old grand-daughter Abby.
Hopefully, they'll email us to tell us how they are now.

One weekend recently, we took the weekend to visit a ward somewhat near
Tortugero, a beautiful little town reachable by boat or airplane.
We first, passed through this tunnel & then through a deep, high, canyon
with many waterfalls, large & small from all the rain.

We encountered the aftermath of this mudslide. We found out later that the next day, the
entire road was blocked by yet, another mudslide.

A beautiful day along the canal of Tortugero
